Our head chef is currently taking a well-earned vacation in an undisclosed location for an undisclosed amount of time. However, in his stead he has given the reigns of the kitchen to his comrade, brother-in-arms, confidant, and closest advisor—his sous chef.
James—affectionately known in the back of the house as Jimbo—is, for the time being, the captain of our culinary ship, and this week he’s put together an admirable specials menu that’s a modest, yet telling reflection of his skill and creativity.
Using Nalu Diner’s Hawaiian roots as a starting point, Jimbo embraced our Pacific essence and then looked even further west across the ocean to come up with this week’s specials. Be sure to stop by for one of the following items. You’ll be glad you did!
Thai Delight Burger
- Our regular 180g beef patty glazed doused in a glaze of pineapple syrup and topped with a heaping portion of pickled red cabbage, charred, pineapple, and served with a bright lemongrass mayonnaise.
- 180g beef patty smothered in a tangy Korean BBQ sauce and topped with a mouthwateringly delicious Kimchi slaw that’s sure to leave you hankering for seconds.
Red Summer Slaw
Scrumptious slaw made with red cabbage, red onion, red apples, and carrots that are most certainly not red! Suitable for vegans and meat eaters alike!
